There is something nostalgic about oo-ey gooey chocolate chip cookies. I hope this recipe brings you right back to your childhood as it does to me!

This recipe had been made probably nearly 1,000 times just by me! Growing up this was my absolute favorite thing to bake. I made this so much my dad finally told me I need to take a break from baking them; I can't blame him- I made a full recipe everyday for about a week!

1 cup brown sugar

 1 1/3 cup butter softened

2 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

3 cups flour

8 oz chocolate chips or to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat to 350°F and line 3

  2.  In a large bowl or stand mixer, cream the butter, sugars and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Then add your eggs to the mix one at a time. once combined add in salt and baking soda and mix until combined. Slowly add in flour until its all incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips by hand.

  3. Using a cookie scoop or hands portion cookies and place on the greased or parchment covered cookie sheet places an inch apart. a normal size cookie sheet can fit 12 cookies depending on size of scoop.

  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and the center is still soft but set. Remove the cookies from the oven and set them in a baking rack for 10 minutes. Voila! Your cookies are ready. Serve or store them in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Notes: this cookie dough freezes great! Scoop out cookie dough portions onto a lined cookie sheet and freeze for 1 hour, and place in a freezer bag! When ready to bake use same instructions, but add 1-2 minutes extra bake time!
